Though initially coming from a painting based history of thinking, my trans-disciplinary art practice has outcomes in paintings, drawings, sound/music recordings, installation, performance, zines and moving image works.

I am in interested in how ways of thinking, making and experiencing art may intersect and be unavoidably interwoven with general life experience. Many of the themes in my art intend to explore  dualities and layering of interpretations. For example, see this incomplete list of general interests:-

·      Histories – Unwritten, Personal and Academic

·      Pop/ Outsider Art

·      Figuration/Abstraction

.      In/Formalism

·      Cultural differences and similarities

·      Psychology/Memory

·      Geography/Nature/Locality

·      The “Unknown”

.      Temporality

It is important to me in making art that I acknowledge my premise that there is only so much that can be retrieved from the making or receiving of an artwork. There is always something that does not reveal itself, either immediately or at all. There is always a necessary mystery in even the most examined art. Hence my interest in faux Museums as an ongoing series curated projects.

I am also interested in how art does, (or doesn’t), function in the traditional "White Cube" of the conventional gallery space and have conducted many solo and collaborative exhibitions and experiments in unlikely and unusual locations. I enjoy collaboration and have curated many exhibitions in both conventional spaces and artist run spaces.
